Her Approach

As a clinical psychologist, Dr Franks focuses on diagnosing and treating mental, emotional and behavioural issues. Diagnosis alone, while helping by naming what you’re experiencing, is not enough. It’s important to also know what underpins your emotional experience. Dr Franks is trained in several therapeutic styles that use specific strategies to identify underlying symptoms and understand the barriers to making changes. The sessions are insight-oriented. This means Dr Franks helps you to gain a greater understanding of your struggles and emotional difficulties and become aware of how you see yourself and relate to others. These insights, together with guidance during sessions to reflect on yourself and situations you encounter, will enable you to make constructive decisions and take action to achieve your goals.
